Munch, munch, munch there’s my lunch!
“Munch, munch, munch, there’s my lunch!” our family often says while nibbling in the garden. My children enjoy going out to the garden, navigating between the beds (which can be harder than you think when plants are full-grown), picking a little of this and that to munch on. This saying originated a few years ago when I announced to my husband, “The kids will ruin their appetite for supper.” When I realized the weight of what I just said to my husband, I smiled to realize my “problem”. My children were going to “ruin their supper” with carrots, kale, peppers, and tomatoes!
Our garden provides nutritious, fresh food, not to mention ready-to-eat food all year long! Here’s a sampling of one day’s garden yummies. Enjoy and leave a story about your garden / local produce.
