Despite its size of just 50 acres, Gaska Park is worth a stop. In addition to a playground, shelter with restrooms, ball diamond, volleyball court, and a paved trail, the park contains a labyrinth of trails.

I’ve discovered this park the perfect outing with my son while my girls are in school. Or the shelter, playground and restrooms are perfect for a weekend family picnic.

Bridges and wildlife!

We love the bridges on both the paved and dirt trails. The bridge on the paved trail connecting to Buckhorn and Fawn Avenues is the perfect place to stop and take in the sights and sounds of nature literally in our backyards in Central Wisconsin.

Despite being surrounded by neighborhoods, be prepared to be greeted by plenty of wildlife, year-round. Rarely do I miss seeing turkeys and deer as I enter the park and I often stir up more deer as I explore the trails.

Location

How in the world did I never find this in the park before!

Located in Rothschild only a mile off Business 51, this park is just a stone’s throw from most Central Wisconsin residents. Parking may be found near the shelter and playground on the south side of the park along Military Road.

Discoveries

With the web of singletrack trails (which may be also biked on), I discover something during nearly every visit. Despite spending hours on the trails, imagine my surprise during my last visit when I found a huge teepee!

Let us show you around!

The more time I’ve spent at Gaska Park, the more I’ve discovered. I would love to introduce you to Gaska Park! Here’s a 5K route at Gaska Park for you to discover on your own in the park!
